I am squealing with delight
I'm not one to just let my two year old run rampant with one of my cameras, but how could I resist when he is showing interest in photography! I can officially die a happy woman now.
Sometimes I wonder what he thinks about. I know A lot of the time it's about puppies and kitties because he talks to himself about them, but what else? What I wouldn't give to be able to crawl into his little brain so that I could understand his frustrations and his view of the world. I like watching him when he doesn't know and seeing the little expressions that he makes. I hope I don't forget those things when he grows up.
My two year old teenager
My sweet, crazy, insane child turned two a week ago and I almost forgot to blog about it! What kind of mother/blogger would I be if I didn't blog about my first born's second year of life! Ok....I'm going a little overboard.
Anywho, Zander turned two and apparently this meant that he thinks he can act like a teenager. He INSISTED that this was what he was going to wear (see below) for his big day. I guess I should have been happy he didn't choose to wear his birthday suit....ok that was lame...moving on. My step mom calls the "birthday boy" to wish him a Happy Birthday. He looks at me, takes the phone, goes into his room, and shuts the door. I walk in there to tell him to say goodbye and I see him laying on his bed with one leg crossed over the other with the cell phone to his ear. He takes one look at me and says, "No Mamma, Shut da door!" as he is pointed at me to get out. Apparently it was a private conversation. I couldn't help but burst out laughing. *sigh* I didn't know I was raising a 16 year old in a two year old body.

This is his birthday cake.....HA HA HA...yea right, I wish I was that talented! In my mind this is what it looked like.....

This is what it really looked like. Wow! Obviously cake decorating is not my forte. I am actually laughing out loud as I write this because those cupcakes are so pathetic! I think next year I am asking Hillary to make his cake- she has mad cake decorating skills!

Happy Birthday Z-bug!
Green River
We met up with my mom and Steve in Green River and had a really great time. Because it was so cold outside we had to find interesting ways to entertain Zander-man. So we flew paper airplanes off of the balcony...
and had jumping contests...

Back to blogging
My poor neglected blog. Anywho- for Christmas my wonderful in laws took the whole Jewkes clan to Scottsdale AZ. For the most part we had a really great time. We had a lovely spewing-from-both-ends-sickness get passed around to almost everyone (thanks little Teague). And mischeivous Zander somehow climbed onto my in laws bathroom counter and opened a childproof box full of Ambien and Ibuprofen in ten seconds flat. After a phone call to poison contol Zander was pain free and slept like a rock-KIDDING! Luckily he didn't ingest any. The girls had a day of pampering full of massages, manicures, pedicures, and Twilight- what more could a women ask for! Thanks Greg and Freddie for such a fun trip.
We did a lot of relaxing

Paul played hide and seek with the boys. It took them forever to find him even with Zander staring right at him ha ha.

Can you tell I loved this green couch...
...Paul did too.
